Mizuno MP-60 - Early reviews...

mizuno_mp60.jpg

Early reviews are in for Mizuno's latest offering and so far, it's all positive. I haven't had a chance to try them yet (and probably shouldn't because I'm hitting the mp32's pretty good).

If Mizuno put more into advertising and marketing in the U.S. and on the PGA Tour on this side of the pond, their quaility gear would play a bigger role in American golf. As it is now, they get some of the worst floor space in golf shops around the country and launch products without any fanfare (see Mizuno MX500).

Hire more retail reps, sign more tour players, and spend more to promote your gear. It's a shame Mizuno is not higher profile, because their gear certainly is top line.

What you say is true. The strange thing about mizuno seems to be this: Everyone KNOWS how good they are. But they still don't buy. I think people assume they are hard to hit and that they'd be too expensive.

Exactly right Tony... Based on my game, my buddies first laughed when I showed up with the MP-32 "blades"... But when they saw how consistent my iron play became with them, they realized that they are not only meant for single digit players...

While Mizuno may have benefited from the "a real players club" monicker in the early 90's, I think it's hurt them in the retail consumer market now.

Try everything out there and don't let "them" decide what clubs you should be playing.
