Miyazato to defend at Women's World Cup of Golf

When you can impact the growth of golf in the world's most populated region, we pay attention at the Lounge. So while the men take on each other at the "Hope", we'll also be paying attention to Ai Miyazato as she defends her country's title at the Women's World Cup of Golf.
Annika Sorenstam will partner with Liselotte Neumann to represent Sweden, while Paula Creamer teams up with buddy Natalie Gulbis to represent the Stars and Stripes. Defending champ Ai Miyazato has partnered this year with Sakura Yokomine.
All the action can be seen (tape delayed of course) on the Golf Channel.
Following the inaugural event in 2005, with a worldwide television audience of over 450 million households, the Women’s World Cup is proving to be one of the major highlights on the women’s golfing calendar, attracting the worlds best players including the US, British, South African and Australian Open Champions.
The 2006 event is no different. Endorsed by the Ladies Professional Golf Association and the Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour, the 2006 field represents twenty nations, comprising of 40 of the worlds top players, including defending champions Japan, and host nation South Africa. The teams will play over three rounds of betterball, foursomes and strokeplay, competing for a total purse of $1.1million. - WWCH Official Website
