Enough already with the freakshow!

Women playing in men's events. Men crying about not being able to play in women's events. And the ubiquitous teen phenoms whose parents need a reality check (I just wanna slap them upside the head and say "Your kid isn't going to be the next Tiger Woods")

I'm all about a good tale (see: Dokoda Dowd wants to spread the word), and I surely don't hold it against the kids, but where the heck is common sense? Parents uprooting families and chasing a dream that's more theirs than it is their child's is downright goofy.

Now I don't know the specifics about this particular "phenom" so I won't rush to judgement... BUT, reading about how he's been playing golf since he was 18-months old is plain ol' crapola.

At 18-months you were a freakin' infant... You weren't playing golf.

"I feel confident that if I play my best and the course is in good enough conditions I can do well", said Simpson

- well he is already giving himself 2 excuses when he doesn't make it.

18 months -- like I believe that. I don't even think your muscles are fully developed enough to be able to actually swing a golf club.
