BMW signs on for PGA's new points race

In a sign of marketability for the PGA's new season champion format, German automaker BMW has entered into a six-year agreement with the PGA to sponsor one of four playoff tournaments that will determine a PGA season champion beginning in 2007.
The innaugural BMW Championship will be played the week of September 3-9, 2007 at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Chicago. The tournament will then alternate between other Midwestern cities and Chicago, with the 2008 tourney at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis and 2010 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indianapolis.
