Why do I have to watch tape-delay NBC coverage?
The Saturday morning session is almost finished and Europe has a 7 1/2 to 3 1/2 lead (with one more match in progress). Sergio Garcia is making a run at greatest Ryder Cup player ever!
At 8am NBC began its coverage with tape delay of the start of the morning matches. There is no live web video today, as there was yesterday, so we are forced to watch tape delay even though we know who already won. How would their ratings (and ad dollars) be affected if they ran live coverage this morning and showed highlights of the morning matches later today?
There is live audio via the Ryder Cup website (warning: it is Euro-centric coverage), but why does NBC think it's better to run tape delay coverage from 8am to 6pm when no one will care about matches we know who already won.
It's 2006 and there has to be a better solution for broadcasting live sporting events from around the world.

No biggie. Not like I didn't figure it that way anyway.
