Jim Furyk is #2

I know it may be hard to believe for some of you, but Jim Furyk is the #2 ranked golfer in the world. He has earned his way to the top with hard work and tones of talent. Jim and Tiger are the only two guys with scoring averages under 69, Jim is second on the PGA Tour Money List and third place is $2 million behind him. Furyk has 12 top ten finishes with 2 firsts and 3 seconds included in the mix.
I love to see Jim play. He rarely shows exuberance but you know he is trying on every single shot. I realize when I see him that I will never be a great golfer, but if I just played smarter golf I could be better, he rarely makes a mental error. Jim is a class act and I wish more pro athletes could emulate golfers and particularly Jim Furyk. He is a gentleman and a great ambassador for the game; I wish the PGA Tour would use him more.

Can't stand it when he looks like he's about to putt and then he backs off. I almost fall out of my chair every time!

I know what you mean. TV makes is worse because there is nothing as boring as watching a player back off a shot. In real life I find it easier to take, the marshalls are always putting up the Quiet signs too soon with him, but that is beacuse there is more to look at in person. One additional note, he only does the double take in tournament play, if you are lucky enough to play with him have no fear, he is fast and accurate, but in tournaments he slows it all down. Can't fault the guy it seems to work for him.
