Curtain Rises on 2007 Season: Is The Golf Channel Ready?

Tomorrow is the really big day. Not just the start of another golf season, but the start of a new golf season with a radically new format designed to give the PGA Tour its first season-ending playoffs and its first true season-long champion.

Oh yeah, it's also the debut of The Golf Channel's new 15-year PGA Tour partnership which will see the network carry all or part of 43 official PGA Tour events in 2007.

TGC will carry Thursday and Friday coverage of every tour event and in some cases (the first three events in fact) will carry all four rounds on the cable network.

We'll have to wait until tomorrow at 6pm (eastern) to see what's in store for the telecast, but one certain upgrade being showcased is popular Golf Channel personality, Kelly Tilghman, who becomes the first full-time female golf anchor and will be teamed with Nick Faldo for TGC's coverage.
